Rod was the outstanding student in Glacier High School's Class of 1968. I was privileged to have been his typing teacher. At the 20th reunion of his class he gave me his business card and invited me to be his guest at his Chicago Hyatt. My elderly mother and I accepted his generous offer and were treated like royalty. He introduced me to his staff as his "typing teacher" and told them that because I had taught him to type so well he had landed a desk job in the military. "You saved my life," he said, smiling his great shy smile. I will never forget Rod Young who launched me so well on the first year of my teaching career. My sincere sympathy to his friends and family and special GHS classmates.

I was very sorry to hear about Rod Young's passing. Rod is a friend i'll never forget. We shared an apartment after high school. Believe me, there were lots of laughs. Rod got me a job at the Hyatt House. I'm fiinding out that he did the same for several people. I am thankful that I have many great memories about Rod. We used to cruise Alki in his 1964 ,4-door ,six-cylinder,yellow ,Ford Falcon, not exactly a chick magnet but Rod didn't care. One of his favorite songs was Lil' Bit of Soul . Everytime it came on the radio he would get this goofy grin on his face and say -lets do the bugaloo- I remember how much he loved and respected his parents and his brothers and sister. I feel privileged to have been called his friend. I will miss him greatly. *Farewell my friend*

Rod was one of the good ones. His brigh smile and easy going way at Glacier helped many to face lifes everyday struggles. His ability to stay committed to his company and life has been used by me in my college and high school teaching of an expample for others to follow. I regret he was not at the last all class as I wanted to share these words with him face to face. Rod, you will be missed.

Hi Rick---sorry, this is so late! If you had Mrs. Hart’s class, it was for 3^rd Grade. Miss Yarr-4^th grade: do you recall this info: we made an incredible mural that covered the whole back wall of the classroom—ceiling to floor; we painted and drew photos of Cairo, the Pyramids of Egypt, and the Nile River—etc. We also did lots of other art projects. Hope that helps to jar any memories. I like to stir some interest in the Boulevard Park kids. Base on what I understand class pictures were not taken during our 2^nd through 6^th grade years at Boulevard Park. This makes remembering who was in our classes somewhat vague. So anyone who would like to participate in developing an informal data base, lets get started. One way is to just enter a message through this portal naming the class year, teacher and confirm some names of kids in that class. This can work for other elementary groups too. My teachers were: 1^st Grade: Mrs. Alice Napjus 2^nd Grade: Mrs. Berger (we call her Mrs. Hamburger) 3^rd Grade: Mrs. Barbara Hughes 4^th Grade: Mrs. Marian Hart 5^th Grade: Mrs. Howell 6^th Grade: Mrs. Billie Dorland Note: I have a copy of Sunset Jr High year end “The Panther 64/65 Tale”. Someone asked me recently if I was retarded, I told them heck no, I'm only 58, I'll wait till I'm 65 but I'll work part time. Just a short note to let everybody know that I definitely thought our 40th reunion was a success. Everybody appeared to have a good time visiting with their former classmates, and sharing stories about their lives from 1968 until now. WOW ! Just got home from are 40th class reunion. What a great job they did. I wish every one could of made it. I saw people that I had'nt seen in year. I was so sad to see it end. Greetings Grizzles!!!, It's been great reading all the news. I haven't had a job since I graduated. I just go up to the campus every once and a while (with my lettermans jacket on) and look into the cafeteria and remember those days when $.75 could get you a "SUPER" I don't know if I'll be able to attend the reunion because I help my wife do her paper route in the evenings. The best thing that ever happened to me occurred in 1967 at a dance after a ball game. I was hanging around with the guys and I saw the cutest little "tush" in white knee high socks walk by. I asked her to dance and I have never dated anyone since. Each year that passes I am reminded of the beauty of "time and space". I am forever grateful for being at that space in that particular time. Not just me but our 4 children and now 3 grandchildren. Cow Eyes
